Load Testing

Hello,

I am in Texas and have a question regarding load testing multiple cranes (in this case 2) on a single runway. This is a new install - 20 Ton freestanding runway designed for two 10 Ton cranes right next to each other. Normally each crane would be tested @ 125% individually.

Does this satisfy all ANSI/OSHA requirements? or should both cranes be tested at the same time?

Thanks

Proof testing both cranes at the same time is not a requirement as far as OSHA/ASME is concerned. If your trying to prove that the runway is designed to handle 2 loaded 10 ton cranes at capacity between support columns then this structure can only be certified by an engineer. Since this is a new system engineered drawings should be available to confirm the runway design.

      Richard,
Thanks for the reply. And yes the structure and the footers are designed fot the loading of the 2 - 10 Ton cranes within in the same bay spacing.

However, just to satisfy the end user, we will test each crane @ 125%, then load each crane w/ 20,000# to test the runway @ 100%.
